The Design of my website is based on my Samoan Heritage. The background image consists of a Samoan tattoo design in the middle as well as on the side, with butterflies and leaves decorating the website. This theme will carry through the entire website creating continuity.
The website is mainly based in HTML with flash elements incorporated in it. Some sub-pages such as Albums might be using flash as the major medium with the user being able to interact with the photos directly.Hyperlinks have been split into two different colours. Links that have been visited and not visited before. The two colours contrast (red, blue) each other and have the same luminosity to be as visually receptive to the viewer.
Traditional Samoan music will also be played as the viewer goes through the website.
A small video has been considered also, engaging the viewer and to give the viewer another way of expressing my identity through another medium.
The text font is 'Viner Hand ITC' and the size at the moment is 19, which is bigger than normal text but it is necessary for easier reading. This text gives my website character and personality as it has a diary 'scribbling' yet neat type look to it.
The site has been designed to flow very simply.

Does your concept fit the theme?
answer: not really. sorry .. yes your theme is identity but as I said in the course outline "It would be best to communicate clearly without relying only on obvious interpretations such as “my personality” etc."
So if you are going to have a site on yourself you need to have something deeper. Not Albums of photos. Anyone can do that. I recommend you look deeper into you wonderful Samoan background. Take your viewer for an emotional journey through your culture. For example I was reading that the right to perform tattoos in Samoa can be traced back to a person's ancestors and if the person's forefathers were known to be a member of a tattoo guild, then the person was permitted by hereditary to enjoy the same privileges.

1. You need to FIRST look at the links in the class blog.

I want you to find links to 3 sites from the class blog that you like visually or for their concepts - any sites from the blog links - and email me them - copy and paste the site address (URL).
2. make a simple concept about your identity and background through your culture - sure use video - and a short loop sound track - sounds great but not a picture album.
Note: 19 pt fonts are too big for body text - only use for short headings.
